Bolo ties have been a western fashion tradition for decades. Traditionally a bol0 tie is a leather-like cord with a sliding ornament that could be made of many things such as silver, gold, stone inlaid, or beaded. The ends of the cord can be simple or decorative, depending on your preferences.
A bolo tie is worn by both men and women and is a stylish alternative to a traditional tie and can be worn with almost anything to almost anywhere.

Bolo ties have many names. Some refer to them as cowboy ties, western ties, string ties and even Texas ties! Whatever name you choose to call them they are sure to dress up your clothing.
Cowboy ties can be worn tightly or loosely, depending on preference.
For men the most common way to wear a bolo tie is under the collar like a traditional tie with the slide nestled up at the top of your shirt but that doesn't mean it is the only way to wear them. Try pulling the slide down an inch or 2 for a different and pretty cool look.
For women string ties don't need a collar and, with the right slide, look absolutely awesome even with business suits and other dress wear. Women wear bolo ties like a choker or like a necklace with great success!
