Bonus Information You Didn't Ask For
Did You Know?

Scissors have been around for thousands of years. Some of the earliest known versions were spring scissors, made from a single piece of metal with two blades that were squeezed together to cut. The familiar design with two crossed blades joined at a pivot appeared much later, but the basic idea has remained remarkably unchanged. From cutting cloth and thread to paper, ribbon and countless craft materials, scissors may be one of the oldest tools still found in almost every craft room today.

How To Make It

Connect your cord to your keyring with a Lark's Head knot.
1. Find the half way point of the cord or wire you are using and double knot it onto the keyring. You can also use a lark's head knot (shown in photo).

2. Begin weaving the beads onto the cord following the pattern at the top of the page. You can click on the image for a larger, better resolution photo.

3. After finishing the pattern tie a double knot in the cords at the bottom and apply tacky glue to secure.

4. Three or four beads can be strung onto the end of each cord as a finishing touch (This is optional and not included in the bead count in your material list.)

5. Weave your wire or pipe cleaner through your beaded stegosaur dinosaur keychain to make it stiffer and hold it's shape.

(Seed beads or E beads can be used in place of pony beads to create smaller characters.)
