Who doesn't love an adorable teddy bear? Make this fun beaded teddy bear keychain with a little cord and pony beads — a cute little bear that even Goldilocks would love. Use your choice of colors to create a girl bear, momma bear or mother bear, including a pretty pink bear like the one shown. You can also use school or team colors to turn the design into a fun bear mascot.
Attach your finished teddy bear to a key ring, backpack, bag or zipper pull, make one for Mom or another special person, or share them as handmade gifts. This pony bead bear also makes a great summer camp, classroom or group craft and can be made in quantity for school, club and group fundraisers.

Pom poms have a much longer history than the craft-store variety might suggest. Decorative tufts of yarn and thread have been used on clothing and accessories for centuries, sometimes as decoration and sometimes to identify particular groups or uniforms. Over time, the pom pom made its way from clothing into home decorating, toys and crafts. Today they range from traditional yarn pom poms to the small, fuzzy craft pom poms available in almost every imaginable color and size.
2. Begin weaving the beads onto the cord following the pattern at the top of the page. You can click on the image for a larger, better resolution photo.
3. After finishing the pattern tie a double knot in the cords at the bottom and apply tacky glue to secure.
4. Three or four beads can be strung onto the end of each cord as a finishing touch (This is optional and not included in the bead count in your material list.)
5. Weave your wire or pipe cleaner through your beaded teddy bear keychain to make it stiffer and hold it's shape.
(Seed beads or E beads can be used in place of pony beads to create smaller characters.)
